The Nissan GT-R is a sports car that was released in Japan on December 6, 2007, Canada and the United States on July 7, 2008, and the rest of the world in March 2009. The Nissan GT-R is a 4-wheel drive with a twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine and has the signature 4 round tail lights; however, the evolutionary, incremental changes between Skyline models R32 through R34 have been done away with. The four-spoke-steering HICAS system has been removed and the former straight-6 RB26DETT engine has been replaced with a new V6 VR38DETT. Because of the GT-R's heritage, the chassis code for the all-new version has been called CBA-R35, or 'R35' for short (where CBA is the prefix for emission standard), carrying on the naming trend from previous Skyline GT-R generations. The GT-R has also retained its Skyline predecessor's nickname Godzilla, given to it by the Australian motoring publication Wheels in its July 1989 edition. Nissan chief creative officer, Shiro Nakamura has linked the new GT-R to the giant robots of the Gundam series. The Nissan GT-R's Body Construction has a Premium Mid-ship (PM) platform with hybrid uni-body assembled using high-precision, ultra-low-tolerance jigs similar to race car construction aluminium hood, trunk lid and outer door skins, die-cast aluminium front shock towers and inner door structures. All outer body panels are stamped using a multiple-strike coining process for exceptional rigidity and precision. The GT-R also has a carbon-composite front cross member/radiator support. Its paint is an advanced 6-stage paint process with double clear coat and chip-resistant paint in critical areas, some have Super Silver special metallic paint, with 8-stage process, including three clear coats and hand-polishing to achieve a lustrous, liquid effect. The Premium Nissan GT-R has a body-coloured rear spoiler whereas the Black Edition has a dry carbon-fibre rear spoiler. Both the Premium and Black Edition GT-R are fitted with high intensity discharge (HID) headlights, automatic on/off headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights and brake lights, dual heated body-coloured power outside mirrors, power folding outside mirrors, flush-mounted aluminium door, handles, four 5-inch exhaust outlets with polished tips and UV-reducing solar glass. The revised GT-R features an engine with revised mapping, changes to valve timing, larger inlets and a revised exhaust system that boosts rated power to 530bhp and 612Nm of torque from 3200 to 6000rpm. Changes also include a new extra rigid front strut bar made from carbon composite, larger front brake rotors, new lighter and stiffer wheels, and revised Dunlop tires. Cosmetic changes include a new front bumper with integrated LEDs. The front bumper improves cooling to the radiator and front brakes while reducing drag. A new rear diffuser improves down force and also includes additional rear cooling ducts. The interior was revised to improve the quality.

GT-R is a triumph of function over form, but while it has been designed largely by need, there is more to the exterior styling of the GT-R than you would initially credit. Certainly there’s no mistaking it for something else and, because this is the first GT-R not based on a mass-market vehicle (hence the absence of the Skyline tag), it has been designed with more freedom than previous GT-Rs. Hiroshi Hasegawa, Nissan’s chief product designer, says it is clearly not an Italian, German or American car and that it’s very mechanical, almost like an animated robot, and is obviously made from metal, thanks to its big shoulders and hefty muscularity. Those features help place this wide car and contribute to an excellent drag coefficient of 0.27. There are also cues from previous GT-Rs. The round rear lights are a continuation of the lineage and the front grille is reminiscent of the most recent model, the R34. To most observers it is not a car that elicits 'oohs' and 'aahs' of admiration for its beauty, but there is no doubting in anyone's mind that, on laying eyes on the GT-R, everyone will know that it is a car with very special levels of performance on tap. New more rigid front strut bar made from carbon composite, larger front brake rotors, new lighter and stiffer wheels, and revised Dunlop tires. Cosmetic changes include a new front bumper with integrated LEDs. The front bumper improves cooling to the radiator and front brakes while reducing drag. A new rear diffuser improves down force and also includes additional rear cooling ducts. The famous Anime series Gundam inspired the exterior of the GT-R its metallic and robot like sculpted body bears the initial of its success. Rest is a sculpting innovation of Americans and Europeans.

Handling the Nissan GTR is a much easier than any other supercar but you have to get used to it before racing it on crowded roads. It is equipped with trademark Nissan/Brembo braking system and Bilstein DampTronic suspension system. One other added feature is cruise control as any other car. In view to ensure maximum control over the vehicle, Nissan GT-R is loaded with Electronic Traction Control System (TCS), High-performance 1.5-way mechanical limited-slip rear differential, Advanced Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) with three driver-selectable modes: Normal for daily driving; controls brakes and engine output. R-Mode – for ultimate performance; raising the threshold at which the system intervenes, off – disengaging the VDC system with the Hill start assist preventing rollback when starting on an incline. The Nissan GT-R comes armoured with an array of safety features that includes Nissan Advanced Air Bag System (AABS ) with dual-stage supplemental front air bags with seat belt and occupant-classification sensors, Driver and front-passenger seat mounted side-impact supplemental air bags, Roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental air bags for front occupant head protection, Front seat belts with pretensions and load limiters, 3-point ALR/ELR passenger seat belt system (ELR for driver), LATCH System (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children ), Zone Body construction with front and rear crumple zones, Hood buckling creases, Energy-absorbing steering column, 4-wheel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), etc.

The interiors of Nissan GT-Rs of the past have always been a somewhat secondary consideration. The same applies to current version to a certain extent, but there’s a sophistication to the modern GT-R’s cabin that was absent in earlier versions. And even if the quality of the materials in the new cars can’t match the best that European rivals have to offer, there is an endearing Japanese efficiency and even a degree of charm to the way the GT-R does things. The bewildering array of screens and data readouts on the centre console are matched by a similar number of switches and buttons – they could only come from Japan, as, too, could the choice of metal-look plastic trim on the fascia and doors. Nissan hasn’t pandered to European conventions, and the GT-R’s cabin is all the better for it. This isn’t a car that’s looking for the panache and lushness of something like a 911, it’s meant to be a technological tour-de-force and to that extent Nissan has done a good job with the cabin. Polyphony Digital, creators of the Gran Turismo series, of motor racing video games, were themselves involved in the development of the GT-R, having been contracted to design the GT-R's multifunction display. The inside cabin of the Nissan GT-R comes with leather-wrapped magnesium paddle shifters, leather-wrapped gearshift knob and parking brake lever, brushed-metal interior trim, French-stitched leather-trimmed dashboard, console and doors, Aluminium-trimmed pedals, etc.

Interior Comfort:

Nissan has updated the inside of the GT-R to create a more sophisticated atmosphere. This was done by adding blue lighting inside the tachometer ring to match the shift position indicator light and exchanging the Bose sound system woofers to Bose Precision Sound System woofers. The Nissan GT-R ensures maximum seating comfort along with superb atmosphere for occupants. The supercar comes equipped with dual zone automatic climate control with sufficient AC vents as well as in-cabin micro filter. The multi-functional steering wheel allows controlling audio and cruising system sitting on the driver's seat. Bluetooth hands free system, USB connectivity and 9.3 GB music box provides you ample choices to enjoy your favourite songs and phone operation without moving your hands. The 7-inch VGA high-resolution colour-LCD touch-screen display for audio, navigation and performance monitor gives you real time status of fuel, acceleration, braking, gear, lap time, steering, etc. The Nissan GTR comes assembled with Leather-appointed front seats with synthetic suede inserts, 8-way power driver's seat, 4-way power front passenger's seat with entry/exit switch for rear passenger, Heated front seats Leather-appointed seats, Heated front seats, Dual individual rear seats, etc. The cabin is designed to ensure enough headroom, leg room, shoulder room and hip room for occupants. Other fascinating comfort features include Nissan Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition, Electronic analog instrument cluster with upshift indicator, multi-function drive computer and digital gear indicator.
